INTRODUCTION
Foreword
The world is no longer sufficient to merely implement generic CSR programs. Both corporations and local governments are required to take concrete actions that correspond proportionately to the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risks they face.
The La Tofi ESG Rating emerges as a response to this urgent need. This system ensures that every step taken demonstrates clear proportionality between the magnitude of risks and the actions undertaken, while also accounting for the unique local context of each region.
With the La Tofi ESG Rating, the score you receive is more than just a number—it reflects a narrative of transformation, a story of change that delivers tangible positive impacts for the environment, society, and governance.

Background
Challenges in Conventional ESG Assessments
Current ESG assessment methods present several shortcomings:
- Overly generic – They fail to highlight the distinctive risks of each region, often resulting in recommendations and evaluations that are misaligned with reality.
- Lack of proportional benchmarks – No clear matrix exists to measure the balance between the risks encountered and the actions implemented.
- Insufficient field validation – Assessments are often document-based, without ensuring evidence of real impact on the ground.
The Solution: La Tofi ESG Rating
To address these gaps, the La Tofi ESG Rating introduces a Risk–Action Alignment approach, structured around four key pillars.
This approach places local realities at the heart of the assessment process, ensuring that results are not only more relevant but also practically applicable across diverse regional contexts.

Local Risk Mapping Index (LRMI)
Measures the accuracy of risk mapping specific to local contexts.

Risk–Strategy Alignment Index (RSAI)
Assesses how well strategies align with the actual level of risk.

Action Mitigation Score (AMS)
Evaluates the scale, effectiveness, and sustainability of mitigation actions.

Field Verification Score (FVS)
Ensures the validity of data and impact evidence through on-site verification.
